Consultation on the Refresh of the Worcestershire Compact

The voluntary and community sector (VCS) in Worcestershire provides a wide range of services to local people. A set of good practice principles for partnership working between the voluntary and public sectors was first developed in Worcestershire in 2006 and is known as the Worcestershire Compact.

The Worcestershire Compact was subsequently refreshed in 2009 and is now being refreshed again to take account of the current National Compact and to incorporate Social Value in line with the Public Sector Social Value Act 2012.

The refresh has been commissioned by the VCS Strategic Issues Group whose membership includes representatives from Worcestershire Voices and VCS providers, Worcestershire County Council and the Clinical Commissioning Groups. The consultation with public sector partners is being led by the County Council (see the letter to public sector partners from Councillor Marcus Hart).

Worcestershire Voices is leading the consultation within the Voluntary and Community Sector. As this is a refresh of the existing compact the consultation seeks your views on whether anything important has been missed out in regard to the standards and expectations outlined in the draft document. Please send your comments to Sally Herbert by email at admin@worcestershirevoices.org.uk by Wednesday 30th September 2015.

The feedback will be collated and reviewed in early October alongside the comments from the public sector.
