Health & Safety in the workplace, 7 & 14 April 2014, 9.30am-1pm

Worcester Sixth Form College and Worcester Volunteer Centre are working in partnership to provide training for volunteers. Easy access to accredited training is available for volunteers in any local voluntary organisation through the ACT programme. Our aim is to equip your volunteers with the necessary skills to help them and your organisation flourish and comply with legal requirements.

Organisations need to register at Worcester Volunteer Centre (Registration Form attached). This will cost £20 for the period January – June 2014.

Once registered, your volunteers will be able to access the courses. Due to the funding agreement, priority will be given to attendees who have below level 2 qualifications (this is someone with fewer than 5 GCSEs at A-C). The courses for those with below level 2 qualifications are free, for those who have above level 2 qualifications, the charge will be £10 per attendee. If your volunteers fail to attend and we are not notified 3 working days before the course starts there will be a £15 charge for each volunteer not attending, as this denies other volunteers a place.

If your organisation needs to notify of non-attendance, cancellation of places or has specific training needs that are not being addressed please contact Beverley Hemming (Tel: 01905 24741).

Your organisation will benefit by improving and acknowledging the skills of your volunteers and by being able to comply with legislation relating to training in things such as food hygiene, health and safety etc.
