Worcestershire Transport Consortium

Recently 13 Community Transport (CT) providers and Worcestershire County Council have joined together to form a CT Consortium. Members include most of the major CT providers and cover all areas of Worcestershire from Tenbury to Redditch and from Kidderminster to Broadway.

The main aim of the Consortium is to support all schemes to become, and to remain, sustainable. The Consortium also aims to share best practice, to encourage collaborative working and to identify areas where schemes can develop their services, either geographically or service wise.

Between the schemes, there are a number of different service configurations including car schemes, dial-a-ride and vehicle hire. Most schemes are dependent on volunteers for driving, escorting and admin although many do have part-time paid co-ordinators.

The schemes have recently launched a new website: which provides detailed information and links on all members of the Consortium. The site also includes numerous other pieces of information regarding travel options in Worcestershire.

For further details regarding the Consortium please contact Sally Ellison (details below), who Chair’s the group and who’s organisation (Worcester Volunteer Centre) acts as lead body for the Consortium.
