Worcester Volunteer Centre

Worcester Volunteer Centre and Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) supports volunteering and voluntary and community action in Worcester City and surrounding areas.

The Centre is primarily an infrastructure organisation, providing a volunteer brokerage service and support to help organisations develop. Services include Funding Advice, Organisational Development Advice, Volunteer Recruitment and a certificated Investing in Volunteers Advisor. Our partner suppliers can also help you to achieve cost reductions in utilities, telecoms and insurance. 

Worcester Volunteer Centre delivers some front line services, including Community Transport, Your Helping Hand to help vulnerable adults live independently, and skills development projects for young people: YES project and CHOICES.

Through Worcester Volunteer Centre, you can:

Established in 1989, Worcester Volunteer Centre has a sound track record and knowledge of the county’s voluntary and community sector.  We work in partnership with South Worcestershire partners who form the South Worcestershire Information and Support Hub Ltd (SWISH) and in collaboration with Malvern Volunteering. We are the lead agency in the Worcestershire Community Transport consortium, Community Travel Worcestershire.

Quality Standards

Worcester Volunteer Centre is accredited by Volunteering England as a Volunteer Centre, to deliver six core functions:

  • Brokerage
  • Marketing volunteering
  • Good practice development
  • Developing volunteering opportunities
  • Policy response and campaigning
  • Strategic development of volunteering
We are also accredited by the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action as a Council for Voluntary Service. The NAVCA accreditation covers all the elements of PQASSO, Matrix and the Community Legal Services Quality Mark and assesses five performance standards:

  • Representation
  • Strategic Partnership Work
